Planned rendezvous

“Just walk up to them as long as you’re comfortable Meg.” Said Dr Forrest.

Meg advanced confidently, until she was just a few feet from the two enormous Moths.

“There, that’s not so bad is it?”

Meg checked.

Her Heartbeat seemed perfectly normal.

Her mouth wasn’t dry.

She didn’t feel at all anxious.

She relaxed, then smiling, turned towards Dr Forrest, victoriously.

Then the green Moth’s wings fluttered.

She froze and the scream started from the pit of her stomach and made it’s way rapidly to her throat.

Dr Forrest pulled her gently away.

“Maybe a few more sessions Meg” (100 words)

  1. Dear Graham,

I suppose there’s a phobia for everything. When I was a child I was terrified of the microphone to my cousin’s reel to reel tape recorder.

I hope Megan can conquer her fear. Good story.

    1. My inexperience as a writer I think. Heartbeat was an error but Moth I don’t know why. I’ll pay better attention to proofreading. I’m glad you commented. I’m learning and your comment is really useful! Thanks.

  2. My phobia is spiders. I did that the other night when I found one on my person. A scream that I couldn’t get out. My husband came to my rescue. I don’t understand it, i just know how it makes me feel. Horrid! Well done.
