Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers

Sonya-Only 100 Words

Here is my entry.

The Ramparts

He peers from the top of the ruined keep and looks to the ground below.

Seeing no-one, he reaches down and picks up a large pebble.

Leaning over the ramparts he drops the pebble; timing the fall accurately with his mobile phone.

”2.45 seconds”.

He smiles.

Reaching into his bag for an empty bottle he is interrupted by a uniformed attendant. “No throwing here, Sir!”

He shrugs, takes out his notepad and begins to write.

Exercise 1.

A bottle is dropped and takes 2.45 seconds to hit the ground.

Estimate the original height of the bottle. (97 words)

Please run on over and check out the other entries!

  1. LOL! Am I wrong or does he have too much time on his hands? Afraid I wouldn’t be able to estimate the original height of the bottle. Great story Graham and thank you for participating in the FFfAW challenge!

  2. The thing I love most about reading other people’s stories based on my photos is that I start to see so many different things in them. I certainly didn’t see a maths teacher (if that’s what he is…) before 🙂
