Of course I fell in love with Pete.

He had so many facets, that it was impossible not to get tangled up and lost in them.

He was the one that added fruit to his salads and ate cheese with everything.

I don’t I think ever saw him dressed the same way twice, and what a quirky choice of colours. Never coordinated, always deliciously thrown together: a perpetual fashion statement.

He didn’t say much but when he spoke it was in contradiction to his body. He spoke so softly, in a calming voice which contrasted starkly with his massive muscular frame.

I used follow him around the house wherever he went. He called me his little pet.

I loved brushing against his naked legs and clambering onto his warm lap. When he caressed me around my fluffy neck I would purr loudly and seek his smile.

Now he has someone else and, of course, she is someone completely different; organised, ordered and predictable.

Hmmm, she’s going to take a bit of getting used to.
