Every year in the UK there is a short window of opportunity to enjoy the splendour of a Bluebell carpet.
I lived in Switzerland for over 35 years, and never saw any Bluebells, so imagine my joy of coming back to the UK a few years ago. Of course I made sure of visiting the woods!

It blankets the highways and was spurred on by Lady Bird Johnson’s Beautification Project in the late sixties.
