Twittering Tales #147

The seaside

I savour my morning coffee and watch the news.

Childhood memories return of the seaside; sand-castles, vanilla ice-cream, and donkey rides.

Now you wouldn’t see me dead in those crowds. It looks like somewhere in hell.

The twins bounce in excitedly.

Can we go to the seaside Daddy? (277 characters)

Twittering tales is a good exercise in writing. I’ve written many 100 word stories but 280 characters is so little that it takes, I think, real skill to trim of those extra words. I have great fun every week for sure.

My featured photo today is of Bosta Beach, Great Bernera, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. An altogether different beach don’t you think?

    Great story.
I think I’ll choose the Lewis version. Much more my cup of tea!

I’m feeling your beach much more than the challenge photo. Beautiful! Especially the color of the water!!! 😊 I agree with your comments Graham. It is quite a challenge to tell a story in 280 characters, which is why I love this challenge! 😊
