Cruising – Disembarkation

We disembarked this morning in Southampton and drove back home.

We’re tired but very content with our 12 night cruise around the UK. I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos over the past few days.

My featured photo today is from the Atrium of the Piazza on the Crown Princess.

We had a great cruise. Lots of smiles and laughs where we met many interesting passengers and amiable crew members.

We even had good weather in all and a glorious day in one of my favourite cities – Edinburgh!

Cruising – More Edinburgh

We had such a fantastic day in Edinburgh that I want to share some more photos with you.

On our cruise ship (the Crown Princess) more than 1500 passengers are on excursions today, either to Paris or to Mont Saint-Michel, as we are docked in Le Havre.

We’ve decided to stay onboard because those destinations are over 3 hours there and back and rain is forecast later. It’s not worth paying 16$ each to go to the centre of town to get wet!

Photo Souvenir #23

Another Photo Souvenir from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland today. This is the Land Raiders Monument near Coll.

Twittering Tales #147

The seaside

I savour my morning coffee and watch the news.

Childhood memories return of the seaside; sand-castles, vanilla ice-cream, and donkey rides.

Now you wouldn’t see me dead in those crowds. It looks like somewhere in hell.

The twins bounce in excitedly.

Can we go to the seaside Daddy? (277 characters)

Twittering tales is a good exercise in writing. I’ve written many 100 word stories but 280 characters is so little that it takes, I think, real skill to trim of those extra words. I have great fun every week for sure.

My featured photo today is of Bosta Beach, Great Bernera, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. An altogether different beach don’t you think?
